The QCD triple Pomeron coupling from string amplitudes

چکیده
Using the recent solution of the triple Pomeron coupling in the QCD dipole picture as a closed string amplitude with six legs, its analytical form in terms of hypergeometric functions and numerical value are derived. 1. The triple Pomeron coupling has since a long time catalyzed a series of phenomenological and theoretical problems. In practice, it is associated to high-mass diffractive scattering at high-energy which has been observed experimentally and studied in various hadron-hadron reactions. More recently, the observation of high-mass diffraction at the virtual photon vertex of lepton-proton interactions at HERA [1] has led to a new domain of investigation where the non-negligeable virtuality Q of the photon implies a (at least partial) connection with perturbative QCD. On the theoretical point of view, the coupling between three Pomerons in an S-Matrix framework has its counterpart in the six-gluon amplitude in QCD which, in the framework of the BFKL dynamics [2] has been derived in Refs. [3] and obtained in Ref. [4] as a 1→ 2 dipole vertex in the related (1/Nc limit of the) QCD dipole framework [5]. Recently we reported [6] a derivation of the high-mass diffractive dissociation which shows explicitly the implication of the QCD ∗Institute of Physics, Jagellonian University, Reymonta 4, 30-059 Cracow, Poland †CEA, Service de Physique Theorique, CE-Saclay, F-91191 Gif-sur-Yvette Cedex, France

The Topology of the Triple Pomeron Vertex in N = 4 Sym
We investigate, within N = 4 SYM, the high energy behavior in the triple Regge limit of a six point correlator of R-currents. Using the leading logarithmic approximation, we sum all diagrams whose color lines fit onto the surface of a sphere. We find three distinct classes of graphs, and one of them contains the triple Pomeron vertex known from QCD. We present results which, within the AdS/CFT ...

We estimate the size of the triple Pomeron vertex in perturbative QCD and compare with the phenomenological value extracted from Regge fits to experimental data. For simplicity, the results of the QCD analysis are taken in the large-N c limit. We find that the perturbative triple Pomeron coupling is of the same order of magnitude as the observed one. We also estimate the size of the Pomeron sel...
متن کاملNon–linear QCD evolution with improved triple–pomeron vertices
In a previous publication, we have constructed a set of non–linear evolution equations for dipole scattering amplitudes in QCD at high energy, which extends the Balitsky–JIMWLK hierarchy by including the effects of fluctuations in the gluon number in the target wavefunction. In doing so, we have relied on the color dipole picture, valid in the limit where the number of colors is large, and we h...
متن کاملOn the inclusive gluon jet production from the triple pomeron vertex in the perturbative QCD
Single and double inclusive cross-sections for gluon jet production from within the triple pomeron vertex are studied in the reggeized gluon technique. It is shown that to satisfy the AGK rules the vertex has to be fully symmetric in all four reggeized gluons which form the two final pomerons. From the imaginary part of the triple pomeron digram found in terms of production amplitudes the inclu...
متن کاملPOMERON and AdS/CFT CORRESPONDENCE FOR QCD
It has been a long held belief that QCD in a non-perturbative setting can be described by a string theory. This thirty-year search for the QCD strings has recently led to a remarkable conjecture: QCD is holographically dual to gravity in extra dimensions. To be more precise, the Maldacena conjecture and its further extensions state that Yang-Mills theory is exactly dual to a critical string the...
